Tranquil Timber

Hi, my name is Jessica and I live in Grimes, IA with my husband and two sons. I used to work as a school counselor before taking time off to have kids. During that time off, I took up the hobby of woodworking. I started out building small shelves, side tables, desks, and art pieces for myself then quickly moved on to making things for my friends and family. With their encouragement, I decided to make my business official and formed Tranquil Timber, LLC.

My woodworking quickly transitioned into all forms of "making" including: wood burning, designing wood pieces with bright colored wood stains, customizations to my wood pieces using my Cricut, making my own t-shirts and sweaters using my Cricut and sublimation printer, designing my own sublimation tumblers and coffee mugs, and engraving and cutting all sorts of fun things with my laser engraver and cutter. I'm always looking to try new things and love making personalized items!

 

Besides being a "maker", my other hobbies include doing yoga and pilates and being a "plant lady". I also like to dabble in macramé and embroidery. I like to combine all of my interests by centering my designs around the theme of being inspirational and healing with a side of sarcastic humor.
